Bila Yarrudhanggalangdhuray: River of Dreams is a sweeping, moving story with strong energy and heart set in Gundagai in 1852. The powerful Murrumbidgee River surges through town leaving death and destruction in its wake. A narrative that plays out against the backdrop of the on timeless Wiradyuri country and based on devastating true events, this is an epic story of love, loss and belonging. Dr Anita Heiss is a writer, poet, activist, social commentator and academic. She is a Lifetime Ambassador of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and a proud member of the Wiradjuri nation of central NSW. Anita was a finalist in the 2012 Human Rights Awards and the 2013 Australian of the Year Awards. She is the author of fiction, non-fiction and children’s books and editor of Black Inc’s recently published Growing up Aboriginal in Australia.
