Survival Day #ChangeTheDate #InvasionDay #SurvivalDay Invasion Day This Sunday is January 26 – the day the first fleet landed. Since at least 1938, the day has been known as the Day of Mourning, and is now called Invasion Day or Survival Day. It is fantastic to see a growing conversation around 26 January and increasing acknowledgement of the trauma that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have, and continue to, experience in Australia. Every year more people are attending their local Invasion Day dawn services, marches and festivals. We encourage you to get involved this Sunday by supporting First Peoples. It is a great chance to learn about Aboriginal culture and history. See what’s going on in your area. Below are a list of events around Victoria. Hope to see you there!
