On Friday November 17th Montmorency South Primary School led by Tara De Bondi celebrated the launch of their RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) by all students at a special assembly. Several activities, informative displays, the playing of marngrook (Aussie rules football) and talks by Indigenous Elders were also enjoyed by the students. Freshly cooked damper meant no one went hungry. The special highlight of the day was when all the students created the word “SORRY” on the school oval. Students wore yellow, black and Red symbolizing the colours of the Aboriginal flag. They formed the word “Sorry” and were photographed by a drone that flew overhead. Community members who had been asked to wear yellow were invited to participate. It was a very exciting fun filled event. Congratulations to the principal Leanne Sheean and all the teachers for supporting this event.
