The Nillumbik Reconciliation Group (NRG) recently partnered with the Catholic Ladies’ College and with Wurundjeri Educator, Brooke Wandin, for an all day immersion experience that is offered through the Connecting to Country Programs sponsored by the NRG.
The outing included a visit to the Gawa Trail in Watson’s Creek and then onto Coranderrk in Healesville and the Coranderrk Cemetery.
Two teachers, 22 students, and five NRG volunteers participated in a wonderful learning experience with Brooke Wandin, a descendent of William Barak, one of the best known Wurundjeri leaders from the Coranderrk station, and a talented Aboriginal artist.
